im thinking about getting an hks ssqv for my jetta 1.8t, i read something about the MAF not sensing the air being dumped out or something like that causing the engine to run rich, does this happen to Jettas or not. Thanks!
It all depends on the BOV. Some BOVs allow you to recirculate the air the BOV lets out. What happens is that the MAF reads how much air is passing it and going into the engine but when the bov releases some of that air the engine runs with less air that it thought it had. What you need find a BOV that you can recirculate the air with which is attach some tubing to the BOV where the air exits and run it to somewhere after the MAF on the intake. Notice the tube going from the BOV to the intake on this carhttp:
