Well i did it. I put in a brand new oem six speed 07 ****** in my 03 wrx and i just got done breaking it in. It feels awesome, allot more shifting i don’t mind that. My car has a vf22 turbo and sti injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump. Tial bov, greddy front mount intercooler and just a 3 inch hks muffler the rest of the exhaust is the stock sti exhaust. I feel like the car lost a little bit of power, im guessing its because the ****** is twice as heavy as the old one. I will be taking the car next week to my tuner to re tune it since last time before the ****** swap we were limited to 14 pounds of boost because of the boost controller. We purchased a solenoid which is going to allow the tuner to boost a bit more. Hopefully this makes back the power i lost cause of the swap. My question now is whats next? I know this ****** will hold allot of power and i would like to know how much power can i squeeze of my stock motor it has 74k miles. Thanks for looking and i would appreciate any answers

Did you change the rear end too? If not, that may be why it feels like lots of shifting and a loss of power. Anyway, I would look to a 2.5liter short lock next. I went from a 2.0 to a 2.5 and the torque and spool is so much better. The TD04 just dies too fast now ut the VF22 is about the same size as a 16G so you should e ale to hold peak boost pretty far into the rev range so I think that would make the car much more fun to drive. Plus after that, the choices of turbo upgrades are many.
