HKS SSQV valves won’t open. Not making blow off sound. Need help?

hks blow off valve
fireball75427 asked:

I just installed a turbo kit and I can’t seem to get the blow off valve to work properly. I hear compressor surge instead of the blow off valve. Does the vacuum line have to be a hard line or is a soft one fine? Thinking the soft line is collapsing or something. Im not sure. Im new to turbos. Please help..
The bov is not adjustable. I am running 6 lbs boost and it should go off at around 6000-7000 rpms and up. It’s on a Suzuki gsxr-1000

First thing’s first, I’m new at turbos too, but some deductive reasoning tells me that the vacuum line (as the name suggests) has negative pressure in it, if you use a soft line, then it would collapse. I would hard line that sh*t, but ask someone who knows what they’re talking about first. if that don’t work, does the valve you got have an adjustable spring? If so, loosen it. do you know how many psi of boost you’re running and at what psi your valve should open?
