Can i put a HKS bov even if is stock…. and i want to buy a hi power exhaust and a downpipe what do you suggest? the HP goes up? or do i get the carbon ti?
First off, your car has turbo already so you dont really need to add anythin! But if you want that nice pffssstttt sound… then a BOV is a nice choice. Dont over do it with exhaust cause it will cover the sound of the BOV. It will increase HP but the BOV is the most inexpensive way to boost your look, sound, and performance.
this has been gone over a thousand times on Nasioc.com. There is absoulutley no reason a stock wrx or even an STI needs a aftermarket BOV. Stock the car uses a BPV (bypass valve) meaning when boost is released it vents back into the intake system so you don’t run rich. If you throw a full vent to atmoshphere on the ECU still feeds the same amount of fuel in comparison to the air that SHOULD be fed back. Some people have gotten away with it, some don’t, I’ve heard of rare cases people have pulled a CEL code as well.
Just leave the stock BPV (which is good to 350hp anyways) or at the very least if you absoulutley positively have to have the “psssh” sound, invest in a 50/50, or get a snorkus delete.
As for the full TBE you won’t see muchg gains by just throwing that on, and lots of ppl encounter CELs with catless DPs, if you do buy a full system get a COBB Acess Port as well and flash to stage 2.
As stated above you can o damage by changing to a BOV. The HKS is known to leak and cause idle problems too. I would go ahead with the full exhaust but a reflash or some kind of tuning is needed for your car. You can o damage by adding a catless down pipe with out tuning for it. You can also get a short ram intake if you are getting tuned and that will enhance tha BPV sound a lot but you will get tired of it.
chris is right, it goes back into the intake, you don’t need a BOV. besides, it makes it more of a sleeper car, while the other cars are going PSSSSSST. they will be seeing your tail lights
